Abstract

The ICA engineering project demonstrated that a single architecture may admit multiple concrete realizations without loss of architectural identity.

The Brazil Implementation Profile constituted the first observed realization of this phenomenon.

This paper introduces the concept of an architectural profile.

A profile represents a coherent derivation of an architecture intended for a particular operational context while preserving its architectural invariants.
