Abstract

The previous papers established architectures as abstract objects, derivation as the operation relating architectures to realizations, and distinguished architectures, artifacts, and instances as separate ontological entities.

The ICA engineering process additionally revealed that these entities evolve independently over time.

This paper introduces the concept of architectural history and examines how evolution may occur without compromising architectural identity.
