The problem
Starting from the verified architecture after two layers (2 identities, 5 relations), we asked: what happens when we add observations about fallible memory, imagination, deception, deliberate influence through pain or pleasure, refusal, chosen harm, and universal individual-attributable behavioral selection? Does responsibility, normativity, or law become architecturally necessary?
What we started with
The 43 additional observations below were provided as a source delta. They introduce a harsh proto-social environment: fallible and manipulable memory, imagined futures, external records, deliberate lying, reliance-like expectations, refusal, affective influence, chosen harm, and the assertion that an individual always chooses how to behave.
M1. An Individual may change an object to fit a purpose.

From 43 observations covering deception, influence, manipulation, harm, fear, pleasure, degraded memory, refusal, and universal behavioral selection, only one new irreducible relation emerged: Choice — the individual-attributable settling on a behavior or behavioral orientation.
A key architectural finding: Choice attribution remains with the Individual even when the Choice Basis is false, degraded, contradictory, imagined, manipulated, or affectively pressured. Influence does not transfer choice.
What remains absent — after 117 observations
After the full three-layer derivation — 117 source observations covering embodiment, coordination, delegation, trust, groups, memory, deception, lying, chosen harm, fear/pain influence, pleasure influence, refusal, and universal behavioral selection — the architecture still does not require:
- Property or ownership
- Promise, commitment, or contract
- Consent as a normative validity rule
- Coercion or duress as choice-invalidating categories
- Responsibility, liability, blame, or guilt
- Truth authority or evidentiary supremacy
- Normativity or deontic applicability
- Obligation, prohibition, or permission
- Violation
- Authority or jurisdiction
- Adjudication
- Enforcement or punishment
- Law or government
Verified findings
Choice emerges before responsibility. Behavioral selection can become architecturally irreducible while normative answerability remains unnecessary.
Influence does not equal choice transfer. Causal and informational influence over a chooser’s basis does not make the influencer the chooser.
Pain is not harm; pleasure is not benefit. Affective valence and integrity consequence are independent architectural dimensions.
Social severity is orthogonal to normative necessity. A source-compliant world may include chosen harm, purposive deception, fear/pain influence, pleasurable influence, contradictory records, refusal and disagreement — while remaining architecturally closed without normativity or law.
Persistent shared expectations do not become normative merely through persistence or common knowledge. A behavioral standard may be durable, transmitted, commonly known, and knowingly contradicted without acquiring deontic applicability.
